Don't you just hate it? I just hate it when I want to view someone's email newsletter and I have to wait while a 350 KB photograph loads. (In case you're not sure, that's an enormous image for a newsletter.) Photographers and junior web designers are often very inexperienced when it comes to optimizing digital images for both image quality and file size. Often, I simply give up waiting and delete the newsletter so I can move on to other mail or other pressing tasks. Any photograph in any email newsletter that's more than about 150KB conclusively demonstrates that the photographer and/or newsletter producer need to go back to school. Or find a different career. Or hobby. |
